  • Norway rats: burrowers, prefer ground level and crawlspaces.
  • House mice: smaller, fit through dime-sized holes.

Habitat

  • Attics, wall voids, garages, sheds.
  • Behind appliances, in pantries, under decks.
  • Storm drains and exterior burrows along foundations.

Behavior

  • Mostly nocturnal — you hear them before you see them.
  • Constant gnawing to wear down ever-growing teeth.
  • Travel along walls and beams, rarely cross open floors.
